    FIRST SHAMAN TRAINING EVENT

    The SHAMAN team is delighted to announce the first SHAMAN training event(SHAMAN – Agenda 1st SHAMAN training event ).

    The event will be held jointly with the German competence network for digital preservation nestor (http://www.langzeitarchivierung.de/eng/) on 1 February 2011, Deutsche Nationalbibliothek, Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

    This training event is targeting practitioners and researchers in digital preservation, with a particular focus on Policies, Ontologies and Context Modelling, Data Grids, Workflows and the newly released SHAMAN demonstrator.

    7th International Conference on Preservation of Digital Objects - iPRES 2010

    The 7th International Conference on Preservation of Digital Objects - iPRES 2010 - will be the seventh in the series and will be hosted by The Austrian National Library and the Technical University of Vienna during September 19th - 24th in Vienna (Austria).

    This conference aims at bringing bring together researchers and practitioners from around the world to explore the latest trends, innovations, and practices in preserving our digital heritage and re-emphasising that preserving our scientific and cultural digital heritage requires integration of activities and research across institutional and disciplinary boundaries to adequately address the challenges in digital preservation. iPRES 2010 also will further strengthen the link between digital preservation research and practitioners in memory institutions and scientific data centres.
