Industrious Media

Industrious Media was founded as a spin-off of the University of Liverpool. Industrious Media develops and implements the Multivalent technologies on behalf of the Higher Education sector, the Digital Library sector, and the Digital Preservation sector, including implementation work for the National Archives in the United States. Industrious Media's software product consists of the Multivalent digital preservation system, which is in wide use in the Higher Education sector in the United Kingdom, and related media adapters and user interface development work. The product is also used by commercial software vendors including the JSTOR journal archive. Industrious Media closely cooperates with research groups in the public sector as well as in the academic domains, including the UK National Text Mining Centre. Industrious Media has been engaged with several research and implementation projects in the United Kingdom and the United States, including the Virtual Research Environment programme funded by the Joint Information Systems Committee.
